Esra Akan

"She graduated from Istanbul Technical University Department of Architecture and got her master's degree in the Architectural Design Program of the same university. She completed her doctorate in the same department in 2017 with her thesis titled “Examination of the Cognition and Spatial Behaviour of Residents in Elderly Care Institutions Using Space Syntax.” Akan continues her comprehensive studies on the elderly population, which represents a significant segment of society. Her main research subjects are the elderly, old age, elderly spatial behavior and cognition, elderly living spaces, nursing home design approaches and inclusive design. In addition to lectures and workshops, she also conducts seminars and has various international publications and proceedings."
