Emin Yahya Menteşe

Emin Yahya Menteşe carries out studies on understanding, managing and communicating disaster risks. Between 2007 and 2009, he worked on a Geographical Information Systems-based landslide early warning system within the scope of his graduate research at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Department of Geomatics Engineering. He took part in earthquake loss estimation, integrated disaster risk analysis, tsunami risk analysis and action plan development projects. His PhD research, which he conducted at ITU Urban and Regional Planning Program between 2012 and 2020, is on understanding and modeling the impact of spatial plans on ecological sustainability. Since 2021, he has been working on the development of spatial information infrastructure, disaster risk analysis, spatial planning and risk relationship within the scope of the Tomorrow's Cities project at Boğaziçi University Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute Earthquake Engineering Department.
