Çiğdem Çağlayan

Prof. Çiğdem Çağlayan, a 1988 graduate of Anadolu University Faculty of Medicine, has been serving as the Head of Department of Public Health at Kocaeli University Faculty of Medicine since her tenure as a research assistant began in 1997. Prof. Çağlayan's primary areas of work encompass Disasters, Environmental Health, Workers' Health, and Women's Health. In April 2020, Prof. Çağlayan played a pivotal role as the driving force behind the "Collaboration for Environment, Climate, and Health Project (ÇİSİP)" within the context of a European Union-supported initiative in the field of environmental health. This project was a collaborative effort involving HEAL - Health and Environment Alliance, HASUDER, and Kocaeli University Department of Public Health. Under the purview of the project, she spearheaded the advancement of resilient health systems tailored to withstand the challenges posed by climate fluctuations and disasters.
