On the very first day of MARUF23, as we take a step into resilience and beyond, we refresh our memories. The topic of universal basic income, which often comes forth during times of growing inequality, social and economic crises, has significant potential for directly reducing economic inequalities and indirectly addressing social inequalities. During the session, these potentials offered by the universal basic income approach in achieving a fairer distribution of societal welfare and policy examples will be discussed, along with the challenges it presents.
